New Boats to Join our Fleet in 2024

We are delighted to announce that we are adding two new boats to our fleet next year. Islay (1) (Pet Free) will join in May 2024 for Friday and Tuesday change over days. Islay (2) will be pet friendly and will join in August 2024 for Saturday and Wednesday change over days.

Caley Cruisers was established in 1969 by Jim & Elizabeth Hogan. The hire fleet is now owned by their son Jamie, aided by a great team, many of whom have a long history of working with the company. We were the first company to start chartering hire vessels on the Caledonian Canal.

Our new additions take us to 30 vessels and a range of 11 different styles to choose from. Whichever boat you choose, you can be assured it will be the perfect vantage point to explore 60 miles of Europe’s most beautiful inland waterway.

Jamie Hogan, Director and Owner of Caley Cruisers said: “One of the key cornerstones to Caley Cruisers success is the ongoing investment programme in the Hire Boat fleet. The significant investment in two new boats will bring some of the highest quality UK built boats into our operation to further enhance Caley Cruisers reputation for having probably the most luxurious, capable and easiest boats to handle for any hire fleet in Britain. We have hand selected the specification, furnishings, propulsion and systems to give our customers the best possible experience for their holiday on the Caledonian Canal.”

We are delighted to be working with Haines Marine once again, this time the full build will be completed at the Haines Factory. Jamie Hogan (Director), James Hogan (Director) and Lindsey Randall (Cruiser Division Manager) have spent time down in Norwich with Justin Haines (General Manager and Director) and are delighted to be able to award this contract to Haines Marine.

Justin Haines provides more information below on the new Islay Class boat joining the fleet:

“UK boatbuilders Haines Marine are pleased to announce a recent order of two brand new Haines craft for Scotland’s Caley Cruisers for their 2024 season.

Two of the popular Haines 36 Sedan models will be built this winter, adding a complete new class to the Caley fleet. The two cabin 36 Sedans will become the Islay Class, adding a very modern motor cruiser to their already impressive range of boats available to charter. The 36 Sedan’s light and airy living accommodation, with a spacious aft cockpit area which through a clever patio door system easily links to the inside saloon / galley space, for that much appreciated open-plan living experience. Two cabins forward will accommodate all the family, while the boat’s easy handling and practical nature of its design, will make it a perfect craft for the cruising areas of the Inverness based company.

Throughout Haines Marine’s 43 year history, they have been builders of both offshore and inland cruisers for the private market. Alongside their production of a range of private craft, the company has also always seen a steady supply of charter boats heading to many of Europe’s leading charter operators, meaning that Haines craft are being enjoyed and used to explore every corner of Europe’s waterways.

Norfolk based Haines Marine’s relationship with Caley goes back many years, having previously supplied GRP mouldings ready for their own internal fit-out. However these are the first complete brand new craft to be built at the Haines factory, boats that will soon be enjoyed on the stunning Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal.”
