Last cast iron swing bridge in UK

When the Caledonian Canal was opened in 1822 all bridges for canal crossings were cast iron. Several were installed but only Moy Swing Bridge survives.

The bridge is operated by hand from each side and the bridge keeper has to row across the canal each time the bridge is opened or closed.
