From London, this trip can be done within 10-12 hours, depending on traffic. Inverness is approximately 2 hrs from Aberdeen via the A96, 3 hours from Edinburgh via the A9 and about 5 hours from Newcastle (for ferry service see below).

The UK now has many good ferry connections with Europe and Ireland giving you the flexibility of bringing your own car!

By Air

EasyJet have regular flights into Inverness Airport from London Gatwick and Luton and special prices are often available.
Flybe has services to/from Inverness via Birmingham & Manchester. Other scheduled or seasonal flights may also be available throughout the summer, keep watching for new flights being introduced at the Inverness Airport website. 
British Airways offers flights from London Heathrow to Inverness.
KLM offer a service from Amsterdam.


Inverness Airport is approximately 12 miles from our boatyard. The easiest way to reach us from the airport is either by taxi directly to the boatyard (25-30 min.) or by taking the airport shuttle bus to the city centre and then a taxi to the boatyard.
The next airport is Aberdeen Airport (Dyce), which has good train connections to Inverness (about 2 hrs).

Taxi Service

It takes approximately 5-10 minutes by taxi to get to us from the centre of Inverness and approximately 20-30 minutes by taxi to get to us from the airport and will cost approximately £30. Taxi ranks are located both in the centre of Inverness and at the airport but pre-booking is also possible and is recommended for larger groups.

By Train

Regular services and overnight train services run from London and most main UK train stations. Inverness Train Station is located in the centre of Inverness and is approximately 2-3 miles from our boatyard (about £7 taxi fare). The train connection between Aberdeen airport in Dyce and Inverness is very good (about 2 hrs).

By Bus
